On the 18th and 19th of April of this year, SIA STIPRO, in cooperation with five different European manufacturers, organized a free seminar for engineers and designers on engineering science subjects related to wood buildings: design for manufacture and installation, building physics, energy efficiency and fire safety. The speakers for the seminar included certified engineers, architects, doctoral students, designers and researchers who shared their in-depth technical experience with specialists from the field. In total, more than 80 people from Latvia and Estonia attended the seminar.
On the first day of the seminar, lecturers from the Austrian company AIR FIRE TECH spoke on passive fire safety and transmission seals for engineering networks, representatives of SIMPSON STRONG-TIE ETANCO (USA/Europe) spoke on the lateral behavior of CLT buildings, and representatives of SCHMID SCHRAUBREN HEINFELD (Austria) presented the advantages of their screws in comparison with other screws on the market.
On the second day of the seminar, representatives of the German company PITZL METALLBAU spoke on concealed connections, column supports and sound insulating connections in CLT buildings, and representatives of RIWEGA (Italy) spoke on the basics of building insulation.
